About the TFA

The Taekwon-Do Federation of Africa (TFA), the ITF Continental Federation of Africa, was founded on 20th March 2009 by representatives from Mozambique, Morocco, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Madagascar and South Africa. Also present were Mr Ri Yong Son, ITF Executive Director and Mr Kim Chol Gyu, ITF Treasurer.

The vision and mission of the TFA is to grow Taekwon-Do on the African Continent and to improve the proficiency and technical skills of all Taekwon-Do practitioners.

The Africa International Taekwon-Do Centre was opened by the President of the Taekwon-Do Federation of Africa, Judge Annali Basson, in Groenkloof, Pretoria on 9th October 2010. This opening was attended by the North Korean Ambassador to South Africa, Jo Yung Man, as well as representatives from the ITFSA, Zimbabwe and Mozambique NGB’s.
